JVC has a problem—a problem more projector manufacturers wish they had. When the company launched its relatively affordable DLA-RS1 LCOS projector several years ago, it created a sensation. Every model year since then brought new updates. Expectations rose, and preceding to every CEDIA (the September trade show that is the traditional launching paper for new home theater projectors), we’ve wondered what JVC would next wake its lineup. The cosmetics have changed several times, just more importantly, a basic supervise of slack but steady improvements has continued. It has even inspired other projector manufacturers to up their game, and the increased value available to the consumer across the souk in general has been substantial.

Many of the parameters are interrelated, then you need to understand how and choose accordingly.
ReplyDeleteIn general you need to decide on the room first, then the screen vastness and aspect ratio, and the projector final.
Given you've a room in heed, you call for to first decide on your viewing position. This gives you a distance to the screen, and after you can agree on how big the surface should be (and the aspect ratio). See the 1st link for a calculator ... but read the info by the parcel first so you can factor within YOUR viewing preferences.
Once you know the screen size (and know it will fit the room height -- the screen should be mounted so that your eye once seated is 1/3 to 1/2 the dimension of the screen above the bottom edge) you can consider wherever to mount the projector.
The mounting location may be carping (especially if the projector doesn't have vertical or horizontal offset and/or limited lense zoom range) or a severe angle. See the 2nd link for reviews and further info on this.
Personally, I favor a flipside shelf mount, simply to do so requires a projector with the capacity to project an image that will crawl the screen from the back of the room (and preferably without the lens zoom having to be at either extreme). And the shelf wants to be adjustable unless the projector has vertical offset. But anything mounting position (table, shelf, ceiling) you decide on, the interrelationship of peak and projector position is important.
The control of close light in the room is important. If you don't have good light control, or intend to watch with any lights on, brightness is important. In a dark room a 700 lumen projector might be enough, but with ambient light you may need 2-3000 lumens to elude a washed out image.
Judgment ratio is an almost meaningless spec (see 3rd link), but in pervasive the higher the better ... as long as you have good ambient light control. Save , anything beyond about 2000:1 will be wasted (seat 4th nexus).
Finally, you should consider convenience/user characteristics and factors that influence statue quality (and which are most important to you since each projectors are stronger or weaker on different factors). The previous include physical size, input flexibility, card structure and fan noise. The latter group take in resolution (superior is preferable, but increases damage), black level & darkness trifle, sharpness, colour accuracy, carving noise.
Whether any of the terms are unfamiliar read up on them so you understand how they think. The reviews and articles at the 2nd link and elsewhwere on the position of the 3rd link will be useful.
